I've been to this place many times and i admit in the past I've been disappointed. proximity alone kept us going back until recently; There has been a complete change in atmosphere. Over the last Month or so the service has improved as has the food quality! The Servers look like they're happy to be there and genuinely happy to have you there, big smiles and all! I came here for lunch a few months ago and was very impressed. We arrived just as the place opened up; the upstairs dining area had not been opened yet. Regardless, I asked if we could have a table on the upper level and the wait staff accommodated our request and opened up the upstairs area and we were given the option to have our choice of any table we wanted. We chose a table on the North side of the restaurant with a great view of the By-ward Market. My burger tasted a little dry but as I had never tried buffalo or bison before I didn't know if that was normal or not. Aside from that the atmosphere was so nice I probably would have even enjoyed a bad meal in that restaurant, sitting where I was. Lire plus

If you only have a one hour lunch then this is definitely NOT the place for you to eat at that time. We arrived and it was busy. The place seems cramped but it appearred to be clean. We had reserved a table for noon and waited a while to get seated. When the waitress finally made it to our table we ordered drinks and our food at the same time. It took a long time just to get our drinks and a very long time for our food. It ended up being an hour and a half lunch. Most other restaurants in the area offer a quick lunch so people can get back to work in a timely fashion. This is where The Wood falls drastically short. The food was good, this I will not dispute. By burger was juicy and cooked perfectly and the salad with balsamic dressing was fresh and nice also. Unfortunately the speed of service will have to keep me away from this restaurant. Lire plus

Oh my goodness this restaurant is good. It is a true gem and I have gone here many times with family and friends. Each and every time the food is hot, fresh and tastes like home cooking. The servers have been there awhile and are very kind and good at what they do. It is a family atmosphere where you can Taste the love in their food. The pizza is amazing, especially if you eat-in and get it hot at the table but the Greek food is the best in Sudbury. Overall Fantastic every single time! Lire plus
